The show was excellent, in my opinion. Wild Nothing opened, I heard a lot of people say that their songs sound the same, I heard that they sound like the Smiths... The sound guy wasn't the best.
They came on with He Dreams He's Awake, the lighting was excellent, it was really heavy and sent chills down my spine. Elevator Love Letter had everyone singing along, as did Fixed, and enough on The Passenger. Torq was slapping down on his keyboard, I was a little disappointed when no sound came out /:. They played Time Can Never Kill The True Heart, it's one of the most sentimental songs I have of theirs. Bitches In Tokyo was a nice surprise, I liked Undertow, too, I accidentally jabbed my friend in the forehead with my Nightsongs on accident. It was our first time seeing Stars, my friend wasn't used to shows this size, but I thought it was perfect, I ate up every song they played. I remember my friend Molly asking me over and over "hoooowwww many more songgsss are they gonna play?" I just laughed and gave her small numbers.
The set yielded some great older ones, The Comeback stunned me! The Woods was so sweet, Torq leaning over on Amy. :) And TFG material worked very well, I liked How Much More a little more than expected, same with I Died So I Could Haunt You, Body was really fun to dance to, Amy had her tambourine and danced with Chris. For the last show on their tour, they were right on top of their game!
There were the moving songs, too, Changes tested by ability to hold back tears, I barely passed. Ex-Lover touched the whole audience, I chuckled at how emotional everyone got. They stepped off the stage and a presidential speech played. Amy stepped back on for Celebration Guns solo, the other band members slowly made their way on stage. It was really heartfelt, I haven't listened to it in a while, it reminds me of how much I've been missing out. Midnight Coward was super fun, the Bedroom material was tops.
After the show, I went around back to get Torq, Chris and Pat to sign my Nightsongs. Torq came off the bus after he changed, I was so scared that they would yell at me, but they were super cool about it! He signed it, we chatted, he's all hopeful about Detroit's future. Andddd he said that Dead Child Star is putting out their album next year, I CANNOT wait. :D Chris came out to sign it, he was really chill, and I got him to go inside and get Pat to sign it (which is kinda odd if I think about it, he wasn't in Stars for that album... but Patty McGee is still the fucking man and Stars!) What a night, I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Thanks, guys. Take care. :)
