General STARS discussion thread

I thought that there should be a place for just general discussion of the songs they have, the band itself, etc. Just something general.

Let me start off by saying that I've been listening to Liar a lot lately, and I LOVE how Torq says "The cabarets of Liverpool and Luxembourg...." I just love how he pronounces Luxembourg.

I love that The Five Ghosts is labeled at the bottom as spinning at 33 1/3 Soft Revolutions Per Minute.

I heard one of there rares, umbrella, and it is pretty terrific, when I get the chance, can't wait to see them live, seems like they do a superb job.

From their pro-shot Le Poisson Rouge performance...

since Amy does her high-kicks on How Much More, and you see her doing that badass thing during the intro for The Passenger, I say that the Passenger-Fist-Pump that she does should be the signature dance move to that song, in return for her kicks. :)!

The umbrella song is called The Aspidistra Flies. Such a good song and incredible live.

In the fifth webisode, at the very end... what's up with that super awesome alternate take on How Much More? It's so cold, I actually like it more than the studio. Why'd they change it?

The arrangement sounds the same to me, it's just live instead of produced.

Really? I'm hearing something much different in the synths... Then there's the third webisode that showed TBH/TBS, but what we got was a remix. I'm sure that Stars has an original version. :P

The synth riff is the same, but the audio in the video hasn't been mixed/produced, so the synth voice might sound different. And, if I remember correctly, they said the songs that made The Seance EP were songs they didn't finish and sent out to other artists to complete.
